In the lunar month of the Hindu calendar a special day is dedicated in worshipping of Lord Ganesha which is called Ganesh Chaturthi. The puja done on this day is called as Ganesh Chaturthi Sakashti Chaturthi Puja, people also do fasting and the name of the vrata is Ganesh Sankasht Chaturthi Vrata. This day is celebrated generally on the fourth day of the Krishna paksha or on the fourth day after full moon that is purnima. On Sankashta Chaturthi Vrit days the devotees of Ganesha also keep upvaas on Sankashta Chaturthi Vrit days. This Ganesh Chaturthi puja is generally done during Bhdrapda Shukla Paksha.
