Vasant Panchami Puja is dedicated to Maa Saraswati who is the Goddess of education and knowledge. It falls on the fifth day of the bright fortnight of the month of Magha (January or February) as per Hindu calendar. It is also called as Shri Panchami and Saraswati Puja.  Vasant Panchami Puja is celebrated with great enthusiasm in temples, homes and educational institutions. Maa Saraswati is believed to be the Goddess of knowledge and arts and Mother of the Vedas. She represents the free flow of wisdom and consciousness, and the learned and educated people worship Her for knowledge and wisdom. In the year 2013 Online Puja for  basant panchami date is 14 February 2013 Thursday. this is the day of Sarswati Jayanti too.
