The Shravan month of Hindu calendar is filled with many festivals and auspicious days and hence, is considered as the holiest month. The most well-known amongst all auspicious days are Mondays which are dedicated to Lord Shiva. People observe the famous Somvar Vrat or Monday Fast on this day and perform Lord Shiv Puja on every Monday for the whole month. Lord Shiva represents the aspect of the Supreme Being and is believed to be the destroyer of all evil forces and possible dangers and also bestows all His devotees with peace and prosperity.  

In the north India Sravan is going to start from date from 23rd July to 21 august in North India and in South it will end on 7th august to 05 September 2013.
