Sankashti Chaturthi Puja is dedicated to Lord Ganesha and is observed on the fourth day after full moon. On this day, the devotees observe fast from morning to moon-rise and perform puja in the evening. It is a very useful festival as it is believed that it removes all the difficulties and obstacles in life. The fasting begins in the morning after having bath and worshipping and chanting prayers dedicated to Lord Ganesha. In the evening, the puja is performed after sighting the moon. If moon is not sighted, then moonrise time given in the Panchang (calendar) is referred and puja is performed.
