Rishi Panchami Puja is an important Hindu festival celebrated in the Hill Districts of North India and Nepal. It falls on the fifth day of the Shukla Paksha in the month of Bhadra (August-September) as per Hindu calendar. Rishi Panchami Puja also marks the final day fasting for those observing the three day Hartalika Teej. The fast is performed strictly by both men and women and it is mandatory to have ritual bath. In this festival, Lord Ganesh, Navagraha, Saptarishis and Arundhati are worshipped. The devotees believe that performing this puja will help them in getting rid of all their sins.
