Gudi Padwa Puja date is on 23 March 2012 Friday and it is an important Hindu festival and is celebrated in the fourth day of the Diwali festival. On this day, women pray for the well being of their husbands and are presented gifts in return from them. Gudi Padwa Puja signifies the feelings of devotion, care and affection by a wife for her husband. It falls on the first day of the Chaitra month and marks the beginning of the spring season. Gudi Padwa Puja is also celebrated as New Year by Maharashtrians and as Ugadi festival in Andhra Pradesh.
